I’ve owned two Samsung A310 phones. The microphone has broken on both of them. I’m reduced to carrying around a headset at all times.

I went to the bank the other day and got a roll of dollars. A third of them were Susan Bs. Why the hell doesn’t the governement pull these out of circulation? They are universally acknowledged to suck. They look and feel like quarters.

If you put sound on a
web page, I will immediately close it and not look at it anymore.
This is a fact. Design with this in mind.

I was reading A=B on my cmputer and I thought: “Gee, wouldn’t it be nice to have this printed out and bound?” It is 222 pages long. I could print it out myself and be out a bit of toner and half a ream of paper. Less than $3.
Then I thought, “I could save paper by finding a duplex printer! Or even better, have Kinkos print out a copy and bind it. Maybe I’d pay a premium.” I figured that would double the cost to have someone else press some buttons. No. $21.60. Can you believe that? I could buy a real copy of the book for that much!

I got into an argument with the physics geeks (term used affectionately; I used to be a physics geek) today. I objected to the assumtion that the term “Christian” implied a belief in the literal interpretation of the book of Revelation, among other things.
Kids today are absolutists. Being a Christian means this. Being an Anarchist means that. This band is cool. That band sucks.

Dean has promised that he’ll drop out if he loses Wisconsin.
Conversely, he has indicated that he’ll stay in until Wisconsin.
That mean that there will be at least two candidates left on the ballot by the time I get to vote. I’m releaved. At the rate they were dropping out, I figured that there’ll be no choice left by the 17th.

I’m sick.
\begin{rant}
I’m sick the weekly asshole killing innocents and avoiding the consequences of his action through suicide.
I’m sick of Ariel Sharon building a apartheid state in Palestine.
I’m sick of the Nobel Prize committee giving a peace prize to avowed terrorist Yasser Arafat.
I’m sick of George W. Bush, an devout Christian, chumming it up with Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz at the ranch, when Abdullah is the ruling dictator of a country where it is illegal to celebrate the Eucharist in public.
I’m sick of George Bush, who said in 2000 that his favorite philosopher is Jesus Christ, interpreting “Turn the other cheek” to mean “Bomb another country, just to prove that your testicles are bigger than everyone else’s.”
I’m sick of every member of every army in the world, who all think that the commandment THOU SHALT NOT KILL somehow doesn’t apply to them.

When you give your address or email to any corporate entity, they immediately begin to junkmail/spam you. But I need that line of communication. I have to check every piece of mail that looks like it comes from my phone company, insurance company, bank, credit card company, etc; any envelope might contain a bill, and I’d be stupid to forget to pay it. I wish I could have a spam filter for my mailbox that would reject anything which was not a bitt or personal correspondance.
If I gave all of these people my email address for an electronic bill, they’d just take that as an invitation to spam me, and I’d be even less likely to find the signal within the noise.
And forget automatic bill payment. Why would I trust an automatic system to find errors in bills?

Things keep falling off my desk. I’d pick them up, but then I’d still be contributing to the total disorder of the universe, so why bother?
