I now know it’s summer. That means five months of insomnia.

I want to move to a planet without seasons.

1. 1 glass of cold skim milk
2. 1 or 2 packets of aspartame
3. half a capful of vanilla extreact or equivilent artificial flavoring

Mix with a spoon. Drink.

Well, I just put together the _NIN Mother’s Day Mix CD_. I hope Mom likes it.

You may or may not have noticed that I have started cross-posting a subset of the WoHC Log to Livejournal. There are a lot of people who simply refuse to read or comment on a post that isn’t on Lj. Some of these people are my friends. I guess that’s why I have gaim set up for four different accounts on four different instant messaging protocols (jabber/icq/aim/yahoo).

Some topics will not be cross-posted. In general, the more geeky a subject is, the less likely it is to be cross-posted.

Wednesday I stayed up late in a misguided attempt to enjoy my life. Even thought I only had to be at work by 10am, I was still groggy. A short nap in the afternoon before the other work didn’t help much. Friday I had to get before 6 and drive to Green Lake. As soon as I got back, I went to work. All day Thursday and all day Friday I was short on sleep. Not enough to kill anyone, just enough that I was operating at less then 100%.

I just slept for about 10 hours. Nice.

Today, I’m going to go get the oil changed in the jeep (he’s been subtly complaining about his dirty oil for weeks). Then I’m going to go take advantage of free comic book day. At noon it’s brunch with the geeks. Then pre-PBRBQ at Josh’s until they call me into work.

I may or may not be going to L+L this evening. I think I’ll just throw clean clothes in the truck and put them on after work if the need arises. I do have a new electric blue tie I want to wear.

Chatted with an old friend. Made my day. It’s funny how the old antagonisms can just fade away as we remember how much we have in common.

It’s systemic. For some reason, our people [America] are stuck in WE’RE NUMBER 1!!! mode from birth even and especially in the face of opposing proof.

We’re not number 1 on:

• Education
• Health care
• National security
• Government representation
• Standard of living
• Job security
• Technology
• General manufacturing
• Research
• Law enforcement
• Religious tolerence
• Vacation time

…any number of things eveybody likes. But for some reason, the WE’RE NUMBER 1!! mentality allows us bully other countries while ignoring our own problems.

Fuck patriotism.

Yesterday I played paintball for the first time ever. I realized I know nothing about infantry tactics.

Last night I delivered pizza while dressed uo (black shirt, black tie, black pants, black boots, and black polyvinylchloride jacket). I got the impression that I got better tips. But in the end I didn’t have that much more money than normal.

I didn’t drink last night, but by the end of the night, I felt drunk. Either Apollo spiked my diet coke or many of the effects I associate with alcohol are really just manifistations of being up at three in the moring.
