FAQ

So what do you do?
I'm a student again. I'm getting teacher certification. My eventual goal is to teach high school math. At some later date, I might eventually get a PhD in math, but I have put this off indefinitely.
Where are you?
Madison, WI. I live on the southside. I never left here after college.
Why does your log have so much about Computers & Code?
I find it fascinating. If you don't, read something else.
Why did you switch to using movable type?
Why reinvent the wheel? I wanted more functionality without the hassle. For philosophical purposes, I want to switch to something GPLed. Wordpress would be the obvious candidate.
What's this about oxygen and breath?
“Lack of Oxygen Will Not Cause Shortness of Breath.” That? I used to work in the physics department, and there was this notice in the basement that said just that. It's true. If you are stuck in a coffin or something, your atmosphere will fill up with CO2 and you will feel like there not enough O2 to breath, you will probably be right. On the other hand, if you step into a pure N2 environment, you won't notice it and you'll pass out. This is also why carbon monoxide poisoning is a pleasant way to go. I find this fascinating. I also think it's a metaphor about life. Think about it. And be as careful with liquid nitrogen in poorly ventilated areas as you would with carbon monoxide.
